The smell of sizzling beef and sweet peppers instantly takes me back to my mom’s old skillet dinnerswarmth in a pan. This Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions hits that same cozy feeling, but in a snap. No wonder people love it: it’s fast, flavorful, and tastes like takeout (but better at home).

It’s a quick stir-fry made with tender beef strips, colorful bell peppers, and savory onionsall tossed in a garlicky, peppery sauce that clings to everything just right. Cozy, a little saucy, and truly an easy pepper steak recipe. Think your favorite Chinese beef stir fry, but simpler.

I grew up in a house where dinner was ready before you finished your homeworkthis was one of those quick, back-pocket lifesavers. I’ve tested this version on my own busy family (my tweens give brutal honesty!), and it passed the plate-clean test. I’ve locked in the flavors and even found a clever shortcut you’ll appreciate!
