- 2 pork chops bone-in approx 2½cm or 1-inch thick Note 1
- 1 tablespoon or 15 ml olive oil optional Note 2
- 2 teaspoons paprika sweet smoked or hot
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Heat your air fryer to 400°F or 200°C before starting.
- Dry the pork chops with a paper towel and slice the rind at 1-inch or 2cm intervals if thick.
- Combine all the seasoning rub ingredients in a small bowl.
- Coat the pork chops with the olive oil if using, then sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly and toss well.
- Arrange the pork chops in the air fryer basket making sure they do not overlap.
- Cook the chops for 12 to 15 minutes, turning them over around the 7-minute mark, until the inside reaches 145°F or 63°C.
Notes
- Cooking time will differ depending on the thickness of your pork chops and your air fryer’s power
- Oil can be omitted and seasoning used as a dry rub, but oil helps create a better crust
- A pre-made seasoning rub can replace this recipe’s mixture using about one tablespoon per chop
- Use a digital thermometer to ensure proper doneness
