Description

Crafting Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches offers a simple and delicious weeknight meal perfect for families. This easy dinner features tender beef slow-cooked for flavorful sandwiches and is ideal for family dinners or game days with crockpot recipes and simple sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions

  1. Dry the beef chuck roast thoroughly and coat it evenly with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high and brown the beef on all sides for about 3 to 4 minutes each to develop flavor, or skip this if preferred.
  3. Place the beef roast into the Crockpot.
  4. Combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, then pour this mixture over the beef in the Crockpot.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours until the beef becomes tender and shreds easily.
  6. Take the roast out and let it rest for 5 minutes before shredding it with two forks into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Return the shredded beef to the Crockpot to absorb the juices for a few moments.
  8. Cut the hoagie rolls open and optionally warm them with provolone cheese melted under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes.
  9. Fill each roll with the shredded beef and serve with au jus for dipping, garnished with parsley if desired.
