Instructions
- Dry the beef chuck roast thoroughly and coat it evenly with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high and brown the beef on all sides for about 3 to 4 minutes each to develop flavor, or skip this if preferred.
- Place the beef roast into the Crockpot.
- Combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, then pour this mixture over the beef in the Crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours until the beef becomes tender and shreds easily.
- Take the roast out and let it rest for 5 minutes before shredding it with two forks into bite-sized pieces.
- Return the shredded beef to the Crockpot to absorb the juices for a few moments.
- Cut the hoagie rolls open and optionally warm them with provolone cheese melted under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Fill each roll with the shredded beef and serve with au jus for dipping, garnished with parsley if desired.
