- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced or pureed
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes for heat optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped
Instructions
- Mix shrimp with paprika salt and black pepper until fully coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat then cook shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes flipping halfway until done and set aside.
- Lower heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
- Add minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth or white wine then simmer 2 to 3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in heavy cream then add Parmesan cheese Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
- Let sauce simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until it thickens.
- Return shrimp to skillet and coat with sauce then cook gently for 2 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with pasta rice or crusty bread.
