Description

French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups make a quick and simple recipe perfect for a family dinner or easy dinner on weeknights. This flavorful dish combines tender beef and melted cheese with a savory au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced roast beef deli style or leftover
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 cups beef broth for au jus
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder for au jus
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for au jus
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Place the tortillas flat and distribute the sliced roast beef and shredded cheese along the center of each, keeping about an inch of space on the edges.
  3. Roll each tortilla firmly and position them on the baking sheet with the seam side facing down.
  4. Brush the tops with melted butter then sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the tortillas turn golden and the cheese melts.
  6. While baking, make the au jus by combining beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan; let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Once baked, slice the roll ups into 2 to 3 inch pieces and serve warm alongside the au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • Roll tortillas tightly to prevent opening while baking and place seam-side down
  • Avoid overfilling as it makes rolling difficult
  • Store cooked roll ups in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes to keep them crispy
  • Keep au jus separate and refrigerate for up to 4 days
