Description

This ground turkey cottage pie is a comforting and easy dinner that works perfectly for weeknight meals. It’s a simple family dinner option packed with hearty flavors and fits perfectly into a comfort food rotation.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta can substitute with gluten-free pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese light cream cheese recommended
  • 1 cup almond milk regular milk can be used
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grilled chicken sliced optional
  • 1 handful fresh greens spinach or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring water salted to boiling and cook the whole wheat pasta until just tender usually 8 to 10 minutes then drain and set aside.
  2. Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat then add the minced garlic and cook until it turns fragrant and lightly browned about 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in cream cheese with almond milk and continue stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy around 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add grated Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper mixing until the cheese is melted and the sauce is well combined.
  5. Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until every piece is evenly coated.
  6. Optionally stir in grilled chicken slices and top with fresh greens like spinach or parsley for garnish.
  7. Portion into bowls and serve without delay.
