- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
- 1 can 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon paprika optional for garnish
- 1 tablespoon butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
- Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until browned and onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes then drain grease.
- Season beef mixture with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Layer half the potatoes in the dish then half the beef mixture repeat layers.
- Mix cream of mushroom soup with milk and pour over casserole.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and drizzle melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes then remove foil and bake 15 minutes until cheese is golden.
- Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving and sprinkle paprika if desired.
