- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced about 1/8-inch thick
- 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup 1 can
- 0.5 cup milk
- 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 0.5 teaspoon paprika optional for garnish
- 1 tablespoon butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel and slice the potatoes into thin, even rounds about 1/8-inch thick.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onions are soft.
- Drain excess grease and season beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Layer half the potatoes in the dish then half the beef mixture, repeat layers.
- Mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth and pour over casserole.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and drizzle melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and potatoes tender.
- Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving and optionally sprinkle paprika.
