Description

This Meatball Parmesan Skillet is a tasty one pan meal that’s perfect for a family dinner. It’s an easy dinner solution ready in minutes, ideal for a weeknight meal you’ll love to serve again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (½ recipe of Marinara Sauce)
  • 12 large meatballs (1 recipe of Turkey Meatballs)
  • 1 ½ cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh Italian parsley or basil or oregano for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meatballs and marinara sauce as directed.
  2. Warm the marinara sauce in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  3. Place the meatballs gently into the sauce and simmer briefly to combine flavors.
  4. Ladle some sauce over the meatballs to coat them.
  5. Optionally, sprinkle a teaspoon or two of freshly chopped herbs on top.
  6. Distribute the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly across the meatballs and sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
  8. If desired, broil the dish for 2 to 3 minutes to achieve lightly browned cheese.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve right away.

Notes

  • This can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months
  • You can use jarred marinara sauce or homemade
  • Frozen meatballs will work or homemade as well
  • This can be made as a freezer meal, see my tips above on how to do that
  • Instead of a skillet this can be made in a casserole dish (9 inchx13 inch) and baked
