Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs boneless and skinless
  • 2 cups basmati rice rinsed
  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons shawarma spice blend
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and garlic and sauté until soft.
  3. Add chicken thighs and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in shawarma spice blend, cumin, paprika, and cinnamon.
  5. Add rinsed basmati rice and chicken broth.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
