- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs

- 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour sugar baking powder and salt.
- Add butter milk eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
- Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Place one cake layer on a plate and spread half the whipped cream and top with sliced strawberries.
- Add second cake layer and repeat with remaining cream and strawberries.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.
