Description

Air Fryer Tuna Steak Sesame is a quick and flavorful dish perfect for an easy dinner or family dinner. The sesame crusted tuna cooks fast in the air fryer, ideal for weeknight dinner plans. Enjoy this air fryer fish recipe with a creamy wasabi mayonnaise.


Ingredients

  • 1 tuna steak approximately 7oz in size
  • 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 23 tsp wasabi
  • 1 tsp soy sauce or coconut aminos or tamari

Instructions

  1. Heat the air fryer to 400 degrees fahrenheit and let it warm up for about 5 minutes to prepare the tuna for searing.
  2. Mix the white and black sesame seeds together on a large plate.
  3. Dry the tuna steak using a paper towel then brush all sides with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Press the tuna onto the sesame seeds on all sides to coat it evenly, ensuring the seeds stick well.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray, then place the tuna steak inside using tongs.
  6. Cook the tuna for 2 minutes, then flip and cook another 1 minute for rare. Add an extra minute for medium or 2 more minutes for well-done.
  7. While cooking, combine mayonnaise, wasabi, and soy sauce in a bowl until smooth and well blended.
