Description
This Air Fryer Zaatar Chicken delivers crispy air fryer chicken with bold zaatar spice chicken flavors. Perfect for an easy dinner or weeknight dinner, it makes a delicious family dinner everyone will enjoy.

- 1 1.6kg Whole chicken
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp za’atar
- optional 2 cloves garlic minced Omit for low fodmap
- 1/3 tsp black pepper
- Optional pinch of salt
- Squeeze of lime
- 1 tbsp coriander finely chopped
Instructions
- Warm up your air fryer to 180C.
- Remove any giblets from the chicken and split it open by cutting along both sides of the backbone, then discard the backbone.
- Flip the chicken breast-side up and press down firmly to flatten it, tucking the wings behind the breast.
- Combine olive oil, za’atar, and garlic if using, then rub the mixture on and under the chicken skin. Season with black pepper and salt if desired.
- Place the chicken skin-side up in the air fryer and cook for 55 minutes until crisp and fully cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes, then carve or shred it. Finish by squeezing lime over and adding fresh coriander before serving.
