Description

One Pan Cheesy Beef Shells is a simple and comforting ground beef pasta that makes an easy dinner for your family. This one pot pasta is perfect for weeknight dinners and features a creamy sauce packed with flavor from ground beef recipes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy or whipping cream
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups uncooked medium shells
  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese cubed
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the ground beef and chopped onions in a large pot over medium-high heat until the beef is fully browned, about 7 to 10 minutes, breaking the meat apart as it cooks. Remove any extra fat from the pot.
  2. Mix in the tomato paste along with garlic powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning until well blended.
  3. Pour in the beef broth, cream, and Worcestershire sauce, then bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
  4. Add the uncooked pasta shells once boiling, then lower the heat to medium to maintain a gentle simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 12 to 13 minutes.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the cubed Velveeta cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper, then let it rest a few minutes or serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serves 4-6 depending on the portion size
  • You can use grated cheddar instead of Velveeta if you prefer
  • As with any one pot meal, ingredients and stoves vary
  • If the liquid reduces too quickly and the pasta isn’t done, add more liquid 1/2 cup at a time to prevent sticking
